About
kininaru publishes short English briefs on the news from Japan about a selection of anime titles and VTubers.
What we do
Once a day, early in the morning Japan time, we take publicly available Japanese sources — news reports and other public posts — and summarise in English what happened: what was announced, when, and where. Every line links to the Japanese source it comes from.
What we don't do
We do not translate articles, and we do not retell the works themselves — no plot, dialogue, lyrics or episode contents. When a title has no English name given to us, we keep its romanised Japanese title rather than inventing one.
How AI is used
The briefs are written by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude Haiku 4.5) from the linked sources. They are not edited by a person before they are published. A line without a source is dropped automatically, and on days with no new material for a title, no brief is published for it.
AI can get details wrong. Please check the linked source before relying on a date or a detail.
Who runs it
kininaru is operated in Japan under the name kininaru. It is not affiliated with the rights holders, studios or agencies of the titles and creators it covers.
